Turkey Sticks with Easy Tartar Sauce

I’ve been away from the blog. Too much happening at the same time, to be honest. But it doesn’t matter. What matters is that I’m back. And I am back with a #summerproject recipe. – just remember summer is almost beginning in the south hemisphere.

This delicious recipe is super easy to make and will please adults and kids… But what I like the most on it is the richness of textures between the soft turkey, the crunchy outside and the cream acidity of the sauce… Hummm… I’m hungry now.

The beauty is that we are using turkey, super healthy and light. The sticks are breaded, but go to the oven. I mean, no fry here. And the sauce is made with yogurt. Summer, here I go!

Here I present it as an appetizer, but I have no doubts this recipe is a very good idea for a main dish. It goes very well with mashed potatoes, rice or salted vegetables. And it is still healthy! And if your kids don’t do tartar sauce, you can mix yogurt and ketchup and make a light rosé sauce.

Well… no more talking. Let’s go to the recipe.

Turkey Sticks with Easy Tartar Sauce 

Serves 4

Sticks:

17oz turkey breasts

1 cup flour

2 eggs, lightly beaten

2 cups Panko

1 tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

½ tsp paprika

1 tsp oregano

½ tsp cayenne pepper

 

Tartar Sauce:

1 Greek yogurt

2 tbsp pickles, diced

4 tbsp pickles water

Salt

Black pepper

Start with the sticks: preheat the oven at 350 degrees.

Cut the turkey in slices, lengthwise. Set aside.

Put the flour in one plate and the eggs in another plate. In a third plate, put the Panko and all the other ingredients.

Pass the turkey slices in flour, eggs and then Panko, in this order, and put them on a pan (with olive oil). Take to the oven for about 30 minutes or until light golden.

To make the tartar sauce, mix all the ingredients together.

Could it be easier? No way! Enjoy it with a bodied Sauvignon Blanc! 😉
